Breeding stallions summer of 2021
During this breeding season, Úrvalshestar are extremely proud to offer the fantastic stallion Pensill frá Hvolsvelli. Pensill is a highly evaluated stallion, and has scored a spectacular 8.90 for conformation and 8,29 for riding abilities. As a four gaited stallion, Pensill has scored 8,71 for riding abilities, and a total of 8,78 at the age of only five years! Pensill furthermore has the amazing blup breeding score of 129. That is the second highest blup of all judged stallions in Iceland! Pensill is tall, beautiful and colorful and a bundle of talent. We look very much forward to welcome him to Holtsmúli. Pensill will be serving mares in Holtsmúli from mid June. The price of a stud fee to Pensill is 160.000 ISK including mare care (assuming one ultrasound) and VAT.
Service
All pertinent information on the stallions can be found under the links below such as pedigree and breeding scores. The price of mare care is 36.000 ISK including one ultrasound and VAT. If the mare does not get pregnant during her first cycle, then there is a fee of 6.000 including VAT for each additional ultrasound. All mares stay in Holtsmúli until confirmed pregnant or not, and the cost of stud fee and service fee has to be paid in full when or before the mare is picked up. Mare owners will be asked to sign a contract which can be found here. That can be done when the mare is brought to Holtsmúli, or if the owner is not bringing the mare him/herself, then it can be done online before.

Care of mares and foals
We pride ourselves in excellent care of mares and foals, and practice careful, regular surveillance. Mares and foals stay in spacious pastures with unlimited access to grass and water. All horses, both mares and their foals, that come to Holtsmúli need to be microchipped. If they are not we can do that for you.
